The course is a wide 100% hardpacked dirt surface; absolutely NO gravel, asphalt, or cement. The turns are smooth and there is ample room for passing. There is 50 feet of gain in each loop. If you don't require aid on a loop, you can bypass the aid station completely and continue on uninterrupted. Threading your way past others seeking/providing aid is not required. As past participants have noted, the shade from and the subtle smell of blossoming fruit trees add to the charm and the experience of this incredible venue - The Washburn Ranch.
